NTSB Plans Public Hearing on Air Race, Air Show Safety

A public meeting on airshow and air-race safety has been scheduled for January 10, 2012, in Washington, D.C., by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB). NTSB Chairman Deborah A.P. Hersman and all five board members will participate in the one-day meeting, during which members will gather information on the safety regulations and oversight in the planning and execution of these events.

“Regulators, aviation organizations, industry groups, and airport authorities will be questioned by the Board about safety practices, procedures, and protocols,” reads the announcement from the board. Meeting participants are to be announced.

The public meeting is set to begin at 9:30 a.m. EST in the NTSB Board Room and Conference Center, 429 L’Enfant Plaza SW, Washington D.C.
