Lone Star Flight Museum to Announce 2017 Texas Aviation Hall of Fame Inductees
Preview $38 million, state-of-the-art 130,000 square-foot museum to open Labor Day
WHAT: The Lone Star Flight Museum will announce the 2017 Texas Aviation Hall of Fame inductees and offer an update preview of the $38 million facility at Houston’s Ellington Airport slated for opening Labor Day weekend, Tuesday, Feb. 7.
The Texas Aviation Hall of Fame honors the legacy of famous Texans and is part of the new 130,000-square- foot state-of-the-art aviation museum and S.T.E.M. learning center featuring interactive educational exhibits and Lone Star’s award-winning collection of historic aircraft. Visitors will be able to explore and experience the science, technology, engineering, and math concepts essential to flight and learn about the contribution of Texas and Texans to the history of aviation. Highlights also include a high-tech Aviation Learning Center and the opportunity to purchase flight experiences in some of the museum’s historic aircraft.
