F8F “Bearcat” Flying Demo this Saturday, October 3, 2020

First public flight of newly restored “Bearcat” scheduled for 11:30am.

Due to Covid-19 Restrictions, only a limited number of guests can be admitted to Museum

The

Grumman F8F “Bearcat”

was designed as the ideal Naval aircraft of the Second World War – small, fast, and capable of inflicting great damage.  But the war came to an end before it could go operational and with jet technology on the horizon, it quickly became a relic of a bygone era.

Now, after a meticulous restoration, Planes of Fame Air Museum presents the first public flight of this latest addition to our collection of rare and historic aircraft.

The  Flying Demo presentation begins at 11:30am

Engine start and taxi at  11:45am

Pilot Steve Hinton will fly the “Bearcat” over the Museum for twenty minutes.  The flight will be visible from anywhere on the Museum campus.
