Hangout with AOPA in Spokane
NEW FLY-IN FORMAT DEBUTS SEPTEMBER 9 AND 10
There will be three STOL demonstrations, two water drops, two movie nights, two warbird flyovers, and one Big Band Dinner Dance. All this takes place Friday and Saturday September 9 and 10 and costs just $20. (For East Coasters, we’ll do this again in Tampa in November; stay tuned.) For tickets and information, visit event page at AOPA.org.
This is an AOPA Fly-In; however, it is different than our previous fly-ins. The Hangout is a more casual event. Like the name states, we want you to fly in and hang out with us. Expect outdoor exhibits, a robust static display, educational seminars focusing on STOL and backcountry flying, predominantly led by the AOPA Air Safety Institute. We will have daily, high-energy STOL demos, as well as warbird flyovers and water drops—all the fun stuff. We encourage you to pitch a tent and camp in our large camping area, as well as visit our 39 Lounge, which is where the hanging out will take place. Grab a seat in the 39 Lounge for the STOL demos during the day and in the evenings for a drink and grab something from a local food truck, listen to live music by country music star Nick Hoffman, or visit our fly-in theater and catch a movie. Bring your family and make a weekend of this event.
The Historic Flight Foundation museum on the field will be hosting a Big Band Dinner Dance on Friday night. Bob Hope impersonator William Johnson will present a tribute to the USO. On Saturday night there will be a camp party at fire pits on the field.
