San Antonio FAA Safety Team will present this online class on Aviation Parts Categories, Requirements, Documentation, Vintage Parts, Unapproved or Counterfeit Parts.

Good aviation parts are critical to safe flight. Counterfeit parts often make their way into the inventory. This presentation answers many questions for the Aircraft Owner, Pilot, Mechanic, and Repair Station Inspector.  When is an aviation part eligible for installation? What parts are approved? What Parts are accepted? What parts are unapproved? How can an owner produce a part? What documentation should accompany a part? How should life limited parts be handled? We look at many documents that came with unapproved parts to identify clues that the part may be questionable. It’s a jungle out there, don’t be deceived or injured by a bad part that fails at the worst possible time and puts your life in jeopardy.
