Tomorrow at Dixie Wing Warbird Museum

CAF Dixie Wing Warbird Museum Livestream Visit June 24

 

PEACHTREE CITY, GA. (June 22, 2020) – Take a behind-the-scenes tour of the Commemorative Air Force (CAF) Dixie Wing Warbird Museum at 4 p.m. EDT Wednesday, June 24 via a special livestream webcast from the CAF. The one-hour tour will include the museum’s seven operating aircraft, sophisticated machine shop and fabricating equipment, and interviews with key Wing members in charge of upcoming programs. The program will open with an overview of the Wing’s history, its facilities and its mission.

Wing members will profile some of the museum’s more notable aircraft such as the P-51 Mustang, and a panel will discuss community involvement, air shows, aircraft rides, education outreach and the CAF mission to educate, honor and inspire through WWII  aviation history.

About the CAF Dixie Wing Warbird Museum
The CAF Dixie Wing, based in Peachtree City, Ga., was founded in 1987. The Wing, one of the largest units of the Commemorative Air Force, maintains and flies seven WWII aircraft including a P-51 Mustang, an FG-1D Corsair and rare types such as the SBD Dauntless dive bomber and P-63A Kingcobra. The unit, composed of 300 volunteers, is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization that relies on contributions of time and funds to carry out the mission of the CAF.
